com-mit’ment, n. – a summation of what it means to be a successful student-athlete.

What is required of me to succeed?  Many athletes come to Wenatchee Valley College asking this very question.  The members in the WVC Athletic Hall of Fame were successful at finding the answer.  These individuals and teams understood the amount of dedication required to be successful; that your opponent is not waiting for success, that your opponent is not taking the easy road, and that your opponent on the field or in life is as dedicated as you to this path.

The members inducted into the hall understood commitment to education, commitment to team, commitment to skill, and commitment to life.  They understood that excuses do not pave the road to success.  They stood up to failure and never accepted it as a destination.  They learned quickly that in order to achieve they must to hold themselves to a higher standard and did so in a most memorable fashion.

This level of commitment manifests in accomplishments.  These members who walked the halls of Wenatchee Valley College experienced success in education, in sport, and in life.  We commend their accomplishments as a glorious history and as an example to future generations of student-athletes. – Go Knights!    JL Hetterle
